International airport of Montenegro
Podgorica Airport ( TGD) is an international airport serving the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica and the surrounding region.
This is the busiest airport in Montenegro in the last 4 years (2019-2022). It is located in Golubovci. Golubovci is a new municipality near Podgorica, so if you read or hear about the Golubovci airport, don’t be surprised. The IATA code of the airport is still TGD because Podgorica was named Titograd (after Josip Broz Tito) from 1946 to 1992, during the time in which the airport opened. It is the main hub for Di Air and was the main hub for Montenegro Airlines and now Air Montenegro. The location of the airport is 15 km south of Podgorica. The new terminal was opened in 2006, so the entire infrastructure of the airport creates an environment for a completely modern and comfortable reception of passengers. Podgorica Airport offers numerous connections with Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, operated by Air Montenegro and Air Serbia. It is not possible to travel from and to Podgorica airport by public transport, but the train station (Airport) is a 15-minute walk from the airport. From Aerodrom train station you can travel by train to the main train station in Podgorica and continue your journey north to the town and ski center of Kolašin or south to Virpazar, Sutomore and Bar.
Podgorica Airport (TGD), like Tivat Airport (TIV) near the Adriatic Sea, is owned by the State of Montenegro (Airports of Montenegro).
The info desk is located in the north part of the central hall of the passenger terminal. It is situated between the check-in counters and the access control in the Departures section. The friendly staff will, upon request, provide you with the right landing and departure times for your flight and provide assistance with details regarding your travel. The info desk is also a place of contact if you, as a passenger with reduced mobility or special needs, need necessary assistance from our trained staff.
Don’t allow yourself to wait in line for a taxi. Have the driver wait for you with your name on the board.

A lighted parking area with 213 lots and 10 lots for buses is provided for all travellers and visitors. It is located in front of the passenger building at Podgorica Airport. There are 4 marked parking spaces intended for passengers with special needs located in the first lane of the parking, opposite from Departures, immediately after the entrance ramp.
Best option of reaching the center of Podgorica from the airport or the other way around is to pre-book a transfer. Transfers are also available to any other destination in Montenegro. If you have booked a transfer, the driver will meet you at the arrivals terminal with your name on the board and help you carry your bags to car, van or bus.
There is a taxi stand in front of the airport building; it is recommended to arrange the price with the driver before the ride. The cost of a taxi to Podgorica is 15€.
There is no direct airport shuttle bus from or to the airport. However, there is a railway station located “Aerodrom” 15 min walk from Podgorica airport and it is the cheapest way of reaching the city center.
It takes only 7 minutes by train to reach Podgorica. Timetables from and to the Airport you can check on the official site of Montenegrin Railroads.
One-way ticket costs €1.20 (second class) or €2 (first class). There is no staff at the station so you just need to board the train and buy the ticket from the conductor in the train.
You can also board trains to other cities and towns in Montenegro such as Virpazar, Sutomore, Bar, Niksic, Bijelo Polje and to Belgrade in Serbia.
